The Story of Jaka Tarub - A fable of Java Indonesia




The legend of Jaka Tarub has many versions, but the ' standard ' version, as indicated in the Babad Tanah Jawi, has a plot as follows:
Jaka Tarub Stole Nawangwulan’s Shawl.
Jaka Tarub was a dashing young man with supernatural powers. He often went out hunting in the forest for the sacred mountain. In the mountain there is a telaga. Involuntarily, she sees and then watched seven Apsaras were bathing in the pool. Due to Jaka Tarub, lured took the shawl was draped around the Middle belongs to one of his angels. When the angels finished their shower, get dressed up and ready to go back to heaven. The short story is then they got married. From this marriage was born a daughter named Nawangsih.
